Two-Way Text Messaging
Working remotely amplifies the risks that lone workers face in the field. If they run into trouble, from roadside assistance in extreme weather to injury or a health incident, monitoring personnel can be reached via two-way text messaging. This messaging capability with Loner device users in the field ensures monitoring personnel are just a message away.
TeamAlert
When working remotely in teams, co-workers are often the nearest individuals to respond to a teammate in need of help. Designed for work crews, Loner Bridge’s TeamAlert® enables teams to self-rescue by notifying an employee that a work alone colleague is in need of assistance.
Cellular and Satellite Communication
With cellular and satellite communication coverage, we’ve got you covered, regardless of where your teams are working. The Loner Bridge portable base station automatically switches between cellular and satellite communications, ensuring continuity of safety monitoring capability.
Durable and Weatherproof
Loner devices are built to withstand everyday use in a variety of environments, from oil & gas to healthcare. They are designed to meet the IP65 ingress protection level against dust and high-pressure water jets and to survive six-foot drops onto concrete floors.
Emergency Latch (Manual)
This allows the user to manually request help with a quick release. Similar to pulling a fire alarm, the emergency latch can be triggered quickly, even if vision is impaired. Compared to other devices that require the press-and-hold of an emergency button for seconds the user may not have—our emergency latch is quick and confident. Once triggered, the Loner 900 device will use audible and visual indicators to attract attention from others nearby.
Employee Check-In (Automatic)
Organizations now have a method to regularly and automatically confirm their employee’s well-being throughout the work day—without an impact to their productivity or your bottom line. Loner devices can be configured to request an employee check-in with a timer that suits the risk level of their environment and activity. The Loner device will use an audible, visual and tactile request for the employee to confirm his or her safety status by pressing the check-in button. If the employee does not respond within a pre-set time, it communicates a safety alert in real-time to monitoring personnel to manage an immediate emergency response to the user’s location.
GPS Location Technology
For precise positioning outdoors, a large GPS antenna and high sensitivity receiver design provides industry-leading, weak-signal tracking. In the event that one of your employees enters a facility where GPS signals are unavailable and Loner Beacons are not deployed, Loner devices always remember their last outside position. When a safety alert is triggered, Loner devices always report their location to monitoring personnel. An optional breadcrumb history can be generated with locations being reported to monitoring infrastructure every 30 minutes.
900 MHz Radio
The industrial-grade 900 MHz spread-spectrum radio link provides up to 2 km of real-world operating range and will not interfere with other in-band radio systems.
Heated Display
Designed for extreme conditions—when plugged into a charger or optional hardwiring cable, Loner Bridge’s display is heated when the temperature drops providing a responsive user interface at all times.
SureSafe
The Loner Bridge System’s two-part design enables lone workers to operate indoors while maintaining their safety monitoring. The Loner Bridge portable base station remains out in the open to manage satellite communications while the radio link to a Loner 900 device allows the lone worker to work indoors with complete safety monitoring. The green Loner 900 SureSafe indicator light provides confidence to the employee that his or her safety is monitored.
Intrinsically Safe
Like Blackline’s Loner IS+, Loner 900 is also certified intrinsically safe according to UL913 Class I, Division 1 and Class II, Division 1 and can be deployed within hazardous sites and locations.
Indoor Location Technology
Layers of concrete, steel and windows with metallic film often block GPS satellite signals. Loner 900 is compatible with Blackline’s Loner Beacon location technology that blankets buildings with reliable positioning signals where GPS is unavailable or imprecise. The result is a seamless capability to locate your employee when help is needed, regardless of where your lone worker is located—outdoors, near a large structure or inside complex facilities.
Loner Portal
All of our employee-worn safety monitoring devices and smartphone apps communicate regularly with Blackline’s monitoring infrastructure. Our cloud-hosted Loner Portal safety monitoring application is the centralized headquarters that enables efficient and comprehensive online management of all fielded Loner products and associated safety alerts they generate. A comprehensive safety alert management workflow empowers monitoring personnel with the situational awareness required to quickly respond to safety alerts, assess the situation, escalate within your organization and dispatch emergency responders—whether these are nearby co-workers or local 9-1-1 services.
No-Motion Detection (Automatic)
Like Blackline’s True Fall Detection® technology, no-motion detection automatically monitors the lone worker’s movements. If the user does not move sufficiently within a configurable interval, the device will use an audible, visual and tactile request for your employee to confirm his or her safety status by pressing the check-in button. If the employee does not respond within a pre-set time, it communicates a safety alert in real-time to monitoring personnel to deliver a timely, pinpoint emergency response.
True Fall Detection™ (Automatic)
Loner devices are able to automatically detect the signature movements of a fall in contrast to other activities—such as walking down stairs or jumping off the tailgate of a truck. If a lone worker falls and does not get back up, the device will use an audible, visual and tactile request for the employee to confirm his or her safety status by pressing the check-in button. If the employee does not respond within a pre-set time, it communicates a safety alert in real-time to monitoring personnel to deliver the most efficient emergency response possible.
